How to Delete Cached Profiles from Windows computer using Group Policy

I’ve been trying to find a way preferably with group policy to removed cached login profiles from Windows 7 & 8 machines to prevent large profiles from filling up workstations hard drives.

A great website called PeteNetLive yields the answer.  The group policy is located under the path:

Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > User Profiles

and is called:

“Delete cached copies of roaming profiles”

Once enabled you can set the number of days to keep cached profiles for before they are deleted.  The deletion occurs after a reboot.
